At the beginning of October, Sage North America announced the release of
Sage 50 Accounting 2013 – Canadian Edition – a product that the company prides itself on being “Canadian developed” and “Canadian supported”, Nancy Harris, VP and GM of Sage 50 Accounting – Canadian Edition, said in an interview with
The Canadian Channel Standard.
“Sage remains as committed to Canadian small businesses as ever before,” a release stated. “For more than 25 years Sage 50 has been a Canadian-made business management and accounting solution – and will remain so.”
Sage North America is a leading provider of business management solutions and services for more than 6 million SMBs worldwide. The company employs over 400 people at its Canadian headquarters in Richmond, B.C. and its Sage 50 accounting solution “has the dominant share of the market in Canada,” according to Harris.
Since its beginnings in 1981, Sage has grown through acquisitions of various companies and solutions. Formerly Sage Simply Accounting, Sage 50 now marks a “new identity” for the product as the company culminates a multi-year strategy to develop branding and loyalty around the Sage name.
Sage 50 belongs to an updated portfolio comprised of a series of different solutions – aimed at business ranging in size from micro and small to mid and entry-level enterprise – including Sage 100 ERP (formerly Sage ERP MAS 90), Sage 300 (formerly Sage ERP Accpac), Sage CRM, Sage HRMS and others.
